According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says that parents should starts to feed their little boss on solids food between 4 and 6 months, but it depends on your child.
These are some of the signs that your little boss may be ready for solid food :
- LIttle boss can sit upright and hold up their head.
- Little boss are curious, looking at everything around them—especially what their parents are eating.
Little boss still seem hungry after getting a full day's portion of milk
eight to 10 breastfeedings or about 32 ounces of formula
Baby food by ages
4 to 6 months: Single-grain cereals
Don't force the little boss to continue eating if they shake their head no, turn away, or refuse to open up after only one mouthful.
Once your baby is used to swallowing runny cereal, thicken it by using less water or breast milk and more cereal.
4 to 8 months: Pureed veggies, fruits, and meats
For some may preferred to starts with fruit before vegetables and it cause a lifelong preference for sweet foods but there is no research that back this statement.
6 to 8 months: Single-ingredient finger foods
Parents may begin with purees or start giving solids with finger foods and this part will be play time with their food. Many babies enjoy experimenting with self feeding from an early age. At this point parents should avoid any hard and raw food. It is important for the food to be soft enough to mash with gentle pressure.
9 to 12 months: Chopped, ground, or mashed foods
At this stage little boss can also use more iron and giving pureed meats like beef or chicken will be good.
